Project Services
Technical support tasks that are not under a Managed Technical Services Agreement are classified as Project Services. Project support is provided under a contract with very specific goals and objectives and are not general maintenance tasks or warranty fulfillment work.
Examples of stand alone Project services are as follows:
- Install a firewall and intrusion detection system
- Develop a Cybersecurity plan
- Develop a structured file directory design with backup scheduling
- Install and configure digital components: e.g., memory, computers, servers, printers, internal PC card adapters, cabling, etc..
- Install network cabling, switches, firewalls, provision an Internet Service Provider (ISP) connection, and other related network startup tasks
- Troubleshoot software operation issues and compatibility with existing software
- Troubleshoot malfunctioning hardware or replacing units or components
Immediate or same-day requests are particularly difficult for any vendor to fulfill. We will generally need to have technical resources (PCs, servers, etc.) already in stock. We might. However, part delivery may need to be expedited if parts are not on hand or available locally.
The support personnel we dispatch may not be familiar with your business, the layout of the work site, the installed IT equipment, or site access procedures. For first-ever projects for your site, these and other unknowns will likely add time and some cost to the total project. This is why we find it so valuable for both the client and us to have established a long-term relationship so that anticipation of possible failure points is better known. With that in place, we can plan to have appropriate spare parts and procedures for fast recovery.
